Before installing Spatial Reality on your playback computer, you must first add a license and assign that license to a computer group. Head to Spatial Central to add your first license, or assign existing licenses to computer groups.

  • We’ve added the ability to stream music or other media in your existing Spaces. Now, you can enjoy your favorite tunes or layer them on top of a Spatial Scene. This feature requires Control 1.26.0 or newer.

  • Adds support for the Object Picker in Spatial Studio 2.5.0. Now it is easier than ever for Studio users to create organic, non-repeating Scenes for continuous playback.
  • Adds support for Object Crossfades, also now available in Spatial Studio 2.5.0. When using the Object Picker Studio users can seamlessly fade between Objects and set the duration and curve type of each fade.

New Features:

  • Support for Scene playback customization with Scene Actions. Now you have total control over individual sonic elements within your Scenes. Choose which elements suit your space and audience best and change volume, intensity and much more. The possibilities for bespoke soundscapes are limitless. New Scenes featuring Scene Actions will be added to the library and updated regularly. To use Scene Actions, update your iOS devices to Spatial Control 1.24.0.

Spatial Reality engine v10.15.14 requires Spatial Control v1.22.0 (or later).

New Features

  • Offline Mode supports continuous operation including Scene load, play, stop and volume control from Spatial Control even when there is no Internet connectivity or if cloud services are unavailable. A local network connection is still required for communication between Spatial Reality engine and Spatial Control.

Known Issues

  • If Spatial Control is backgrounded immediately after initiating a load of a complex/large Scene, a Scene load error will be presented upon foregrounding the app but the Scene will successfully load and play.
  • Spatial Control can take up to 60 seconds to go into Offline Mode after losing Internet connectivity.
  • Spatial Control may briefly display the Offline Mode banner after foregrounding the app, even when there is normal Internet connectivity.
  • Spatial Control may not load account, Site, Space and Scene images in Offline Mode.
  • Spatial Control will not display the Scene description in Offline Mode.
  • Switching between accounts in Spatial Control while in Offline Mode may occasionally present the error “You are offline and no Sites were found”. To remedy this condition, reconnect to the Internet.

    • Significant improvements to objects’ physical behaviors for position, size and shape, and motion, including: loudness and delay management, fine tuned distance effects, doppler effect, and more.
    • Fine tuned updates to render handling for scalability, with support for up to 64 channels of audio on a single M1 Mac mini. (You can always add more computers to Spatial for even better scaling and handling of very complex scenes.)
  • Support for volume animation and fading, as well as handling improvements across most object properties.
  • Spatial Reality engine support for Spatial Headspace, which allows creators to preview the audio from a scene using headphones or stereo speakers, including mimicking performance in actual Spatial spaces and allowing movement and rotation of the preview listener.

  • Improved consistency of low-to-the-ground Scene Objects across most Spaces.
  • For new spacemaps, the horizontal acoustic center of the Space — from which Scene Objects are positioned — is calculated to be at the center of the Space. The vertical center uses the z=0 value from speaker locations in the spacemap.
  • The default spread in new Scenes is “3”. Spread is inherited by default.
  • Bass management is on by default in new Scenes.
  • Allow the setting of crossover frequencies in the spacemap.
